During
an interview with a prospective real estate agent, ask such questions as:
How long have you been in business in this
area?
Do you work full-time in
the real estate market?
Are you G.R.I., C.R.S.,
or A.B.R.? (These are the highest real estate degrees.)
Make sure you are comfortable with the
personality of your agent so that you will have a good rapport.
When contemplating the purchase of beach property, ask about availability
of homeowner's, wind and hail, flood and tenant insurance. You may be
surprised to find that these are difficult to obtain in some locales.
Always ask about the storm damage history of a potential home.
Most
coastal-area homes lack a basement and/or attic, so make sure your potential
new home has adequate
storage space.
