GolfGolf Tips
When
the sun is blazing, you'll be more comfortable wearing white or
light-colored clothing and a hat. There are numerous clothing materials on
the market that allow you to cover yourself completely and still keep
cool. Remember to protect exposed skin by using sunscreen with SPF 15 or
higher. A quality pair of sunglasses does wonders in protecting eyes from
harmful UV rays.
What you
eat and drink before and during a round can significantly impact
performance. Avoid eating a big meal in the two hours before tee time. Try
and drink at least a pint of water each hour you're on the course, avoid
caffeinated and alcoholic beverages and eat two snacks as you play — one
around the 5th hole and another after the 9th.
Be aware
that alligators live in swamps, ditches, lakes, rivers and even golf
courses. Do not feed or go near them. If a ball goes into a marshy area,
just leave it and take a penalty rather than a bite! Also be mindful of
the snakes that inhabit area golf courses. While not overly aggressive,
they will defend themselves if they're disturbed.
Driving
range practice sessions are a great way to improve your golf game, but be
careful to avoid injury. Take breaks, walk around and stretch; never
practice for more than 15 minutes without taking a stretch break.
For best
results while changing your golf swing, try combining it with a
flexibility program to be sure your muscles can handle your new action.
The last thing you want to do is make an alteration that ends up causing
you injury!.
