When you're going to a special event or activity, prepare for unexpected
expenses, such as parking fees, tips and "donations" by having extra
cash with you. In some cases, these costs can be $5 to $15 or more per
person.
Airlie Gardens is wonderful place to visit all year long, with music,
art and garden events from Opening Day in January through the Holiday

is free for the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher in Kure Beach on
four days each year: Martin Luther King Jr. Day (the third Monday in
January); Valentine's Day (February 14); Veterans Day (November 11); and
Christmas Eve (December 24).
During the holiday season, from Thanksgiving to New Year's, be sure take
advantage of downtown Wilmington's many special events, free parking,
"Reindeer" drawn trolley tours and festive atmosphere. Call the Downtown
