Carolina's Peanuts in Hampstead continues the tradition and sells only the
finest quality peanut products. Choose from a large selection of gift
baskets and tins, fresh peanuts and specialty blends. Try the Carolina
Blend, a delicious combination of cocktail peanuts, crunchy roasted peanuts,
roasted redskins, sugar-coated butter toffee peanuts and chocolate-covered
peanuts. Carolina's Peanuts also makes their own all-natural peanut butters,
including a popular chocolate peanut butter. Family owned and operated,
Carolina's Peanuts has been in business since 1967. Owners Kevin and Jayne
Emma take great pride in their customer service, and orders can be phoned
in, faxed in or sent from the company's website.

For the last ten years, DDT Outlet (between the
beach and Hampstead on U.S. Highway 17) has been the go-to place for beach
furniture, furnishings, decorative gifts and accessories. Their
25,000-square-foot shop is chock-full of unique merchandise, and they offer
a variety of services, including complete beach house and condominium
packages and shipping. Be sure you give yourself plenty of time to browse
through all of the furniture, nautical gifts, wicker, barstools, pictures,
yard ornaments and more. DDT Outlet also carries a large selection of
outdoor furniture, including all-weather wicker.
Owners Tom and Niki Miller have recently
expanded and opened a second and even larger (30,000 square foot) location
at 7222 Market Street in Wilmington. Bursting at the seams, DDT Outlet is
growing outside of North Carolina as well. Look for their family-owned "Out
of The Box" brand stores in both Virginia and Long Island, New York. DDT
Outlet is open seven days a week, year round.

The Skate Barn, the area's top indoor
skateboarding facility, features a 6-foot ramp, 3-foot and 5-foot-deep bowls
and a full street course as well as an accessories shop, snacks, video games
and a Foosball table. Be sure to check out the new DoubleWide Skate and Surf
Shop in front of The Skate Barn for name-brand surf and skate gear and
boards. To get there, take U.S. 17 to Hampstead, turn west onto Peanut Road,
then right onto unpaved Pansy Lane. The Skate Barn is open Monday through
Friday noon to 10 PM. Sunday it's open from 1 to 6 PM. Call for off-season
hours.
