These friendly, pleasant professionals also offer manicures, pedicures and

Hide staff prides itself on keeping up with the latest in coloring and
cutting trends. On the list of services you'll find perms, cuts,
coloring, high and low lighting, waxing, manicures, pedicures
and artificial nail enhancement (including the latest in gel
applications). They also offer tanning beds and massage with a licensed
massage therapist.
Saks Hair Salon is a favorite with locals
who enjoy friendly, personal attention in a relaxed shop where everybody
knows everybody. A hair salon for the whole family, Saks specializes in
haircuts for women, men and children. Their color services are also
outstanding. Complete hair and nail services, waxing and special
occasion packages are available. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday.
Walk-ins are welcome. Southport Watertown Hair This elegant salon has been located in
downtown Southport for more than a decade. Owner Marylynn Rehder
welcomes old and new customers with a warm smile. While hair color for
women and men is the salon's specialty, the professional staff offers a
full menu of hair design and artistry. Visit the newly renovated spa
room where the nail artist will pamper you with relaxing manicures and

Body Rayz offers a number of tanning options, among them 20-minute
custom beds with facials, high-intensity luxury beds, a VHR stand-up
booth, and a high-intensity 10-minute leg tanner. These folks are
experts in the tanning business and will assure you an informed,
comfortable experience. Body Rayz is open seven days a week. They accept
appointments, but walk-ins are also welcome.
At Tropical Tans, the friendly, certified
staff, clean atmosphere and many amenities make your tanning experience
pleasurable. Tropical Tans offers 30-minute, 16-minute and 12-minute
beds, plus a standup booth, and a matrix high-pressure bed. Try their
Mystic Bed sunless 38-second tanning spray booth, considered the best
spray system in the world. They're open seven days a week and offer a
wide variety of pricing and packages.

Caring for your skin is especially important
in this climate. The sun's rays can do serious damage if you don't use
protection appropriate for your skin type and exposure level. Local urgent
care centers and doctors see a lot of wicked sunburns every summer. Wind,
salt spray and sand blasts can be damaging as well. Every drugstore,
supermarket, beach shop, sundry and convenience mart carries sunscreen
products, though your largest high-end selections will be found in area
department stores or salons. And now that you have that perfect tan, your
hair is awesome and your nails look like a magazine ad, it's time to get a
cosmetic makeover. The area has many Mary Kay, Merle Norman and Avon
representatives, so to find one, ask around or just go back to the Yellow
Pages. For a freebie, stop by any of the cosmetic counters at a local
department store such as Belk or Dillard's. Many hair salons and most day
spas offer makeup applications also. For more extensive or for medical
services, you may want to check out a professional skin-care program.
