Beaches and Vicinity Like the Southport-Oak Island area, the South Brunswick Islands are very much family oriented. You will find lines at the video stores, and lots of people on the beach after sunset. If you are looking for live entertainment, try the following. Concerts On The Coast Supported by a grant from the Brunswick Arts Council and
sponsored by the Brunswick County Parks and Recreation Department and
the Greater Holden Beach Merchants Association, this outdoor summer
concert series is a recent addition to the summer scene. The concerts
feature live entertainment at the Intracoastal Waterway Stage on Jordan
Boulevard, located near the base of the Holden Beach bridge, and are
held on Sundays from 6:30 until 8 PM May through September. Call for
dates and a schedule. Paradise Cafe With ocean views from every seat inside or on the patio,
the atmosphere at the Paradise Cafe invites you to kick back and relax Jimmy
Buffet style. Open for lunch and dinner almost year round, the Paradise has
daily specials to offer the freshest food available and a kids' menu to keep
the little ones happy. Sit among the palm trees, tropical birds and local
artwork hanging on melon-colored walls and enjoy appetizers, burgers, pizza
or hot subs. Of course, there is local seafood as well. Be sure not to leave
until you have enjoyed a Paradise Sunset, the house drink. And remember, the
Paradise has music on the patio on weeknights during the season — from
country to beach music to pop.
Concerts On The Coast Supported by a grant from the Brunswick
Arts Council and sponsored by the Brunswick County Parks and Recreation
Department and the Ocean Isle Beach Property Owners Association, this
outdoor concert series features live entertainment in the Museum of
Coastal Carolina parking lot. Concerts are held on Fridays from 6:30
until 8 PM May through September. Call for dates and schedule.
Giggling Mackerel Seafood Grille You will find Giggling Mackerel tucked on
the east side of the bridge and perched on the edge of the Intracoastal
Waterway on Ocean Isle Beach. The rooftop Tiki Bar is an excellent place
to watch the sun go down while sharing a drink with friends and family.
You're sure to find your choice of wine, beer or mixed drink as they
have all ABC permits. Their daily and weekly specials contain all your
favorite sandwiches and salads and seafood. Call for an entertainment
schedule.
Celebrate the Lakes Concert Series This free concert series held at Spring Lake Park off
Pine Road begins the third Friday in May and continues on the third
Fridays of June, July, August and September beginning at 6:30 PM.
Bringing chairs is suggested. Bringing a picnic is welcomed, but glass
containers and pets are not. In case of inclement weather, concerts are
held at the BSL Community Center. For details and information, call the
