This family-owned motel, the only one at
Holden Beach, is very well-maintained and courteously run. Each of the
17 carpeted rooms has cable TV and a telephone as well as easy access to
the outdoor pool and picnic tables. The Gray Gull is on the mainland
side of the Intracoastal Waterway, just minutes from the beach. The
office is in the hardware store next door, where anglers can also buy

A tropical escape closer than you think, The
Winds Resort Beach Club has been an Ocean Isle tradition for
generations. It's an excellent choice for its range of accommodations
and prices and is proudly rated the AAA highest rating (3 Diamond).
Studios, mini-suites, deluxe rooms, one- and two-bedroom suites, and
resort cottages with four, five or six bedrooms are all richly appointed
and comfortable. Some of the resort cottages have private, outdoor
Jacuzzis; many accommodations have indoor whirlpools and kitchen
facilities. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with 11 varieties of
palm trees, banana trees and lush flowering plants nestled among
meandering boardwalks and decks. A wide expanse of beach provides for

The Sunset Inn opened its doors to the beauty of
the saltwater marsh and island life in June 2000. The honey-colored hardwood
floors in the entrance and living area shine softly in the light that
filters through the large windows. Here, continental breakfast is served on
a lace-covered table every morning from 8:15 until 10 AM, or you can choose
to have your morning meal in the living room or in the privacy of your own
room. There are 14 rooms, each with a different theme and decor. All rooms
