Care Tips
At
the height of the summer season, area restaurateurs often tell tales of
tourists who pass out at the tables merely because they didn't drink enough
water during the day. Remember that alcoholic beverages and drinks with
caffeine, such as cola or iced tea, are diuretics and will aggravate
dehydration. Make sure to drink plenty of water or juice throughout the day,
especially when it s sweltering outside.
Since
most of the medical offices on the Outer Banks are urgent-care facilities,
you may wish to call ahead for a non-emergency visit to inquire as to how
long the wait might be. The receptionist might be able to suggest a less
hectic time at which to come in.
