	Year-Round Rentals It can be quite a challenge to find a suitable property for long-term residential rental. However, it's not terribly difficult to find what most people on the Outer Banks call a "winter rental," a time period that usually refers to late fall through early spring, when the cottage is not usually booked for weekly rentals. If you're looking for year- round residential or seasonal accommodations during summer, you'll need to begin your search as soon as possible. Some rental companies deal lightly in long-term rentals, but few make it a specialty. It's worth some phone calls to the companies that specialize in the areas in which you're interested, but a better bet is probably to check the classifieds in the local newspapers. If you plan to spend the summer working on the Outer Banks, ask your employer for suggestions. Some smart businesspeople are beginning to help their seasonal workers by offering housing. Good places to look for long-term rentals are in Colington Harbour, on Roanoke Island, and between the highways in Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, and Kitty Hawk.
