About Insiders'
The Insiders' Guides are part of Guilford, Conneciticut-based The Globe Pequot Press, a division of Morris Communications, a Georgia-headquartered communications company. Insiders’ Guides are a series of nearly 70 tourism and relocation guidebooks that provide extensive information on restaurants, hotels, attractions, real estate, and schools in popular vacation destinations and growing relocation markets.

Insiders' Guides feature colorful descriptions, thorough coverage of all topics, and a helpful tone. The area guides are the only books we publish – please do not submit proposals for any other kind of book.

The Insiders' Guides -- Author Submission Guidelines
Your organized and concise proposal to Insiders’ should include:

-- A letter explaining:
* What are your qualifications for the project? We are seeking experienced, deadline-oriented resident writers, with a travel writing or journalism background preferred. Strong local knowledge of the area is a must.
* What is your experience/familiarity with the region?
* Why will your book be better than the competition?
* How do you plan to research the project?
* Will you be able to provide photographs for the book?
* What is the earliest date you can finish the project?

-- A resume and/or list of publishing credits
-- Writing samples of any published articles, especially those related to the project
-- An outline or annotated table of contents
-- One or two sample chapters
-- Sample copies of any photographs.
-- Do not send any original material.

A self addressed stamped envelope for returning your materials.

Considering your proposal
Our criteria for considering your proposal are accuracy of your research, readability of your prose, and proficiency with the subject. We hire at least two authors for every title, so we also consider how two individuals' strengths will work together.
