11th Annual N.C. Seafood Festival
Photography Contest

Eligibility: Open to photographers throughout North Carolina who are North Carolina residents. All photos must be original by photographer.

Awards:

Best in Show: Color - Purchase Award $150.00. Photo will become property of the North Carolina Seafood Festival and will be the official Storefront Poster Ad for the NC Seafood Festival with Photographer's name printed on poster.

Best in Show: Black & White - Purchase Award $150.00. Photo will become property of the North Carolina Seafood Festival and used for the official Opening Ceremonies program and promotional photo for the NC Seafood Festival.

Award of Merit & Honorable Mentions will be given in each category.

 Specifications:

Each photographer may enter up to four photographs in each category. Photos must reflect the working seafood industry in North Carolina and must be taken in North Carolina. Photos must be single image and matted only on mount board.  Please do not frame the photos.  Approximate size - 8 x 10 to max 11 x 14. No name or title is to appear on the front of the photo. The NCSF reserves the right to withdraw any works which are, in its judgement, unsuitable for public display. Identification labels/entry forms must be attached to the back upper right hand corner of the entry. Sale price must be listed. If not for sale, an insurance value must be given and NFS marked under price.

Fees:

An entry fee of $5.00 per photograph, with a maximum of 2 entries allowed per category. Entry fees are non-refundable and must be paid at time of entry.

Delivery:

Hand delivered works should be brought to the NC Seafood Festival office between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, by Friday, March 16, 2007.  Shipped entries should be sent in a sturdy re-usable container, with entry cards and return postage included. Calendar:

Storefront Posters will be distributed in August/September
Traveling Exhibition start date: April, 2007
End date: December 31, 2007

Exhibition:

Winning entries and selected photographs will be exhibited as a part of a traveling exhibition of all entries and will include stops throughout the county. Exhibited entries may not be removed for any reason prior to the exhibit closing date of December 31, 2007.

 Sales & Commission:

Photographers are invited to offer their works for sale. A 30% commission for all works sold while exhibit is on tour will be collected. Contact the NC Seafood Festival office at (252) 726-6273 for more information.

Responsibility:

All reasonable care will be taken in the handling and display of all entries and all works exhibited are covered while on display up to their stated value. The NC Seafood Festival is not responsible for the transit to or from the exhibition, nor assumes any responsibility for works not picked up within ten days of the exhibition's close. Any works left unclaimed 10 days after the specified pickup date (January 30, 2008) will be considered property of the NC Seafood Festival. Unless otherwise specified, the right of reproduction for publicity purposes without charge is assumed. The submission of work to this show constitutes agreement to all conditions described herein.
