a popular early morning walking and running spot, with many folks arriving by 5:30 AM to
enjoy the peace and quiet while exercising.
Use a fishing reel to hold
your kite string. Some say that’s cheating, but a reel sure makes it a breeze to
bring a high-flying kite back to earth.
Beach volleyball is
increasing in popularity, and the Atlantic Beach waterfront is the place to watch or join
the action.
The
beaches and most of the park areas are canine-friendly. Just remember that
there are leash laws and that owners are expected to clean up after their
pets.
Bicycling is a great family activity, but remember that North Carolina law
requires bicyclists under age 16 to wear helmets. Those age 16 and older are
encouraged to set a good example and put safety first by wearing helmets,
too.
