Palace Historic Sites & Gardens opens its gardens free twice a year,
in the spring and the fall. At other times, those who wish to view the
gardens only can purchase an $8 garden pass.
Ready to hop down the bunny trail at Easter time? The
Craven County Recreation and Parks Department, (252) 636-6606, and A Day at the Farm, (252)
514-9494 are among local entities hosting
Easter egg hunts.
The Eastern North Carolina chapter of the National Multiple
Sclerosis Society sponsors a 150-mile, 2-day bike tour as a way to raise
funds for MS research. Participate as either a biker or a volunteer -- call
(800) FIGHT MS for more information.
The
Down East Dog Park is currently under development and will be located just
inside Glenburnie Park.
The
Swing Zone is New Bern's latest family entertainment center. Located at
4605 U.S. Highway 70 East near the Craven County fairgrounds, the Swing Zone
offers miniature golf, batting cages and the area's only paintball course.
