account of the city's colorful history titled In This Small Place:
Amazing Tales of the First 300 Years of Havelock and Craven County,
North Carolina.

Arthur
W. Edwards Elementary, Havelock Elementary and Tucker Creek Middle schools
in Havelock are all year-round schools. Students follow a nine-week on,
three-week off schedule, with a five-week break in the summer.

for a recorded message that gives you the lowdown on what’s playing,
or drive over to 500 McCotter Boulevard (off U.S. 70 E.) and look at the
marquee. On weekends, matinee prices are in effect until 5:30 PM.
Did
you know that because of the length of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry
Point's runway system (approximately 16,500 feet) it is an alternative
landing site for the Space Shuttle? Cherry Point is the primary alternate
landing site during the first 14 to 27 minutes of a shuttle launch. NASA's
Mission Control releases all East Coast facilities once the shuttle clears
Maine. Specially trained teams of Marines are on standby during launches to
recover the shuttle and the astronauts.
