If
you’re planning to ferry a vehicle to Cape Lookout National Seashore,
schedule your trip well in advance to ensure room on the ferry from Davis or
Atlantic. (See ourGetting
Here, Getting Around chapter.)
When
camping, keep in mind that wild animals, such as skunks and raccoons,
are common in this area but are normally cautious and will stay away
from humans and their pets. If a wild animal persists in approaching
your campsite, particularly during daylight hours, report this to your
campground host or the local animal control facility at (252) 728-8585.
Do not feed or attempt to touch wild animals.
