Carteret-Craven Electric
Membership Cooperative Providing electrical service to much of western Carteret
County, this member-owned corporation has more than 37,500 accounts. It
services all residents of Bogue Banks except those living in Atlantic
Beach; all residents in Cape Carteret, Cedar Point and along N.C.
Highway 58 to Maysville; residents along N.C. 24 from the Swansboro line
to Gull Harbor and down Nine Foot Road and Lake Road to Havelock;
residents along U.S. 70 from Morehead City to the old residential
district in Newport; and Morehead City residents in some areas of
Country Club and Crab Point. It also serves residents in Cedar Island,
South River, Merrimon, Harkers Island and along N.C. Highway 101 to the
outskirts of Beaufort. The cooperative also provides service to portions
of Havelock and small areas in Jones and Onslow counties. A deposit may
be required when making an application, or a letter of good credit from
another utility company may waive that deposit requirement. Embarq While many people may recognize Embarq as a long-distance
carrier, in these parts it's also the local telephone company. Depending on
your previous record, you may be asked to pay a deposit before service is
initiated. The deposit usually is refunded after a year. Connection can take
three or four working days, longer if there has not been telephone
connection at that address before. |
