Apartments Renting an apartment in New Bern can be an
interesting adventure. As is the case in many towns, location is
important. If you are interested in an apartment, Insiders advise that
you drive through the neighborhood at different times of the day and
night so you understand where you are moving. Rates can vary depending
on the neighborhood — apartments in the historic district as well as
newer apartment complexes will go for much higher than those on the
outskirts of town. Most of the condominiums under development downtown
are for sale rather than rent. Most apartment rentals in the area are
handled by real estate firms or management companies. However, there are
also a number of apartment complexes that Insiders feel comfortable
recommending. Carolina Club
Apartments Carolina Club Apartments is located next to
Fort Totten Park and very near to the historic Ghent and DeGraffenried
neighborhoods. This well-maintained complex features one-bedroom and
two-bedroom apartments. Each apartment includes central heat and air, a
range and refrigerator and mini-blinds, and the monthly rental fee
covers city water and sewer services. Residents have access to on-site
laundry facilities. Up to two pets 25 pounds and under are permitted;
however, a non-refundable pet deposit and an additional monthly rental
fee are charged. A security deposit and a yearly lease are required. Tryon Estates
Apartments Tryon Estates Apartments is one of New
Bern's nicest apartment complexes. It features one-bedroom, one-bath
units and two-bedroom, one-and-a-half bath townhouse garden and
townhouse apartments in a beautifully landscaped area right off Simmons
Street. The apartments feature either a private patio or balcony, and
townhouses have private patios and outside storage areas. All have
central air and heat and include a range, refrigerator with ice-maker,
dishwasher and mini-blinds, and some townhouses are available with
washer and dryer hook-ups. Other amenities include off-street parking,
laundry facilities and a private swimming pool. Tenants are required to
pay a security deposit and sign a one-year lease. The monthly rent
includes city water and sewer services, cable and 24-hour emergency
maintenance. Up to two pets 25 pounds and smaller are permitted;
however, a nonrefundable pet deposit and an additional monthly rental
fee are charged. Insiders are glad to recommend Tryon Estates
Apartments; it is within minutes of both downtown and the Dr. M. L. King
Jr. Boulevard shopping corridor. |
