Bogue BanksAll the accommodations we would recommend on the beach
are just too numerous to list. In this section we offer a sample range
of accommodations from full-service resorts to family and angler
favorites with fewer frills. We also suggest you contact condominium
developments (see the Crystal Coast
Vacation Rentals chapter) because most offer attractive vacation
rates.

Bogue Shores Suites is located on Bogue Sound
in Atlantic Beach. Bogue Shores is a family-oriented establishment and
has many wonderful things to offer. The one-room efficiencies are set up
to sleep four, and all units have fully equipped kitchens. The ocean
access is directly across the street. Bogue Shores offers the largest
outdoor pool on the island. They also have several picnic areas on the
property with boat ramp facilities as well as a dock for fishing. |

This clean, cozy, family-owned and operated
inn, located on an access channel to Bogue Sound, is an inviting setting
for families, fishermen and scuba divers. The friendly hospitality at
Caribbe Inn is punctuated by its colorful aquatic decor. Each room is
painted in splashy colors with different fish murals and Caribbean
designs. All of the rooms have telephones, refrigerators, microwaves and
cable TV with HBO. Studio efficiencies with full kitchens as well as
some pet-friendly rooms are also available. Guests are welcome to use
the complimentary boat slips, picnic areas with grills, dock with a
fish-cleaning station and a freezer to store their catches of the day.
Caribbe Inn is just a short walk to the ocean and within easy walking
distance of restaurants, fishing piers, shopping, shag-dancing clubs and

Digger Inn every room is oceanfront with a private balcony. Guests will
find 102 rooms, each equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee
maker, iron and ironing board. The inn offers guests direct access to
the wide, sandy beach and the ocean. Guests can also enjoy an outdoor
pool and hot tub, as well as conference and meeting space to accommodate
groups made up of 2 to 100 people. The Clam Digger Restaurant is located
on the first floor of the inn and is open for breakfast, lunch and
dinner. Open year round, the inn has a lounge featuring weekend

Atlantic Beach is located in the heart of this beach community, offering
guests just a short, easy walk to the beach, shopping and restaurants.
The entire inn was renovated in 2007, and the 38 rooms vary from studios
to two-room luxury apartments. All rooms feature ceramic tile floors,
granite counter tops, microwaves, refrigerators, hair dryers, coffee
makers, free wireless Internet service and expanded cable with HBO.
Several rooms include full kitchens. Guests can enjoy the new outdoor
pool and outdoor grills. Open year round, Island Inn is the perfect
place to relax for a few nights or the week.

Oceanana Family Resort Motel and Pier

This comfortable motel on the ocean provides
a lot of extras. Long a favorite of families with children, the Oceanana
offers a pool, a children's play area and equipment, a fishing pier,
picnic tables and grills, free pool-side breakfasts in the summer
season, beach chairs, and poolside and beach services. Guests choose
from 109 rooms — standard rooms, oceanfront rooms or two-room
efficiencies, all with refrigerators. The accommodations here are clean
and comfortable. The Oceanana closes for the season in mid-November and
re-opens in early April. This motel offers one of the few remaining
piers on Bogue Banks, and anglers do not need a saltwater fishing
license because the pier provides blanket coverage. |

The Palm Suites
This premier property is located only
blocks from the heart of Atlantic Beach and features 90 custom-designed
units, each designed with the owner's personal flair to provide you with
a tranquil experience. Each unit contains a microwave, refrigerator,
coffee maker, iron, ironing board and hair dryer. Guests will enjoy an
outdoor swimming pool, nine soundside boat slips, a boat-launching area
and an on-site guest laundry facility. The Palm Suites offers
AARP/senior, military and wedding discounts. There are no minimum-stay

| The Sheraton Atlantic Beach is a
full-service oceanfront resort hotel with 200 ocean-view and oceanfront
rooms. Each includes a coffee maker, refrigerator, hair dryer, iron and
ironing board, two phone lines, wireless Internet connections, private
balcony and in-room safe. Oceanfront suites with one bedroom, a living
room and a whirlpool tub are available. All rooms feature two queen
beds or one king Sheraton Suite Sleeper bed. A summertime children's
activities director offers a full schedule of daytime fun. Enjoy a
casual dining experience at the Sheraton's restaurant, Milazzo Italian
Restaurant, which specializes in seafood and family-style dining and is
open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week. In season,
Molly’s Oceanfront Bar and Grill serves casual fare and beverages. The
lighted fishing pier is complimentary for all guests, and golf and
tennis are located near the hotel. The 9,000 square feet of meeting and
banquet space includes Sandcastles Oceanfront Clubhouse — a great

This four-story hotel has 111 suites, each featuring a
sleeper sofa and two double beds or one king-size bed. Every suite
offers a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, wet bar and work desk
consisting of a data port, two phone lines, modems and voice mail.
AmeriSuites overlooks Crystal Coast Country Club Golf Course and is
directly across the highway from the ocean. Guests may enjoy the beach
via an ocean access walkway. A luxurious, complimentary breakfast
featuring English muffins, bagels, Danish pastries, sausage, yogurt,
fresh fruit and waffles is served every day. Guests can enjoy the heated
outdoor swimming pool, a well-equipped fitness center and laundry
facilities on site. Be sure to ask about the special golf packages. If
you need a meeting room, several are available, each with the amenities

Set among beautiful live oaks on the oceanside,
Atlantis Lodge was among the first hotels built on Bogue Banks. Many of
the guests at the Atlantis consider it their "second home" and return year
after year. Most units are arranged as suites, offering efficiency
kitchens and dining, living and sleeping areas. All have patios or decks
facing the surf, plus cable TV and other expected amenities. Recreation
areas, equipment, golf packages and complimentary beach furniture and
beach services are extended to guests. The outdoor pool is a quiet place
for sunning and swimming, and the third-floor lounge has an adjoining
library. Unlike most hotels, the Atlantis makes provisions for pets. The
lodge proudly sponsors two popular sand-sculpture contests — the Mile of
Hope in early May for children with cancer and a competition in August
that benefits the Outer Banks Wildlife Shelter. See our

This comfortable lodge offers 38 oceanfront
rooms with balconies or patios. Each room has a phone, cable TV and
refrigerator. Connecting double rooms, a two-bedroom cottage and two
three-bedroom, three-bath villas are also available. A pool is situated
in the middle of a large, grassy lawn facing the ocean. Guests can use
the bicycles and grills. Many guests enjoy relaxing in the hammocks and
swings on the oceanfront lawn. |

All of the 46 rooms at the attractive
Windjammer Inn are over-sized and oceanfront with a private balcony,
refrigerator, microwave oven, cable TV and two telephones. The
glass-enclosed elevator is an unexpected surprise and offers a great
view of Bogue Sound. Guests enjoy the oceanfront pool, private beach
area with beach services and complimentary coffee each morning. There is
a two-night minimum during summer weekends and a three-night minimum on
holiday weekends. We recommend you get one of the Jacuzzi rooms
overlooking the ocean or relax in the hot tub outside by the pool.

Oak Grove Motel

We're impressed by this motel because
it's so tidy, and, in the shade of live oaks, it always looks cool, even
on the hottest days. It has one- and two-story stone-sided units with 10
standard double-bed rooms and 13 kitchenettes all with porch rockers for
enjoying the shade. This motel is a family facility and has lots of
repeat business. Two-night minimums are required on summer weekends, and
a three-night minimum is required during major holidays. William and Garland Motel
This small, family-owned motel has eight rooms and
three mobile units. Nine are efficiencies. Each room has a refrigerator
and microwave. Don't expect anything fancy but do expect a family
atmosphere and clean, comfortable surroundings. Guests have ocean access
via a short nature trail walkway and access to the 20-acre Salter Path
Dunes Natural Area, perfect for swimming, fishing, walking, sunning and
picnicking. There is generally a two-night minimum in the summer. The
staff welcomes well-behaved pets.

refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, hair
dryer and free Internet access. Guests can also enjoy an outdoor pool,
an exercise facility and free continental breakfast. Silver Creek Inn
can accommodate group meetings, family gatherings, business meetings and

Parkerton Inn
Parkerton Inn is on the mainland just
north of the intersection of N.C. Highways 58 and 24. With 47 rooms, the
inn offers several room arrangements, including kitchenette efficiencies
and rooms equipped for the handicapped. Standard rooms have two
queen-size beds, and two executive suites offer king-size beds. The
outdoor pool is a popular spot. Golf packages are offered. Every room
features a microwave and a refrigerator. Free coffee is available in the
