It’s just like stepping back in time. Every town once had a hotel like The Monte Vista. Family owned and operated “boarding house” type inns used to be common in every mountain town. The Monte Vista in Black Mountain is one of the few that has survived, and is still going strong after more than 75 years. Owned and operated by the same family for three generations. The minute you enter our spacious lobby, you know you’ve passed a threshold of time.

The Monte Vista is not a cute imitation of a bygone era. The Monte Vista is furnished with a collection of antiques and old time furniture. Bedrooms have private baths with showers and vary greatly in size, decor, and location. The Main Building, built in 1935 is the heart of The Monte Vista. An additional wing was added in 1980. And “The Farmhouse”, built in 1924 offers a rustic atmosphere and is decorated in country motifs.

Dining at The Monte Vista is legendary among fans of country cooking. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday. Breakfast and lunch only on Sunday. The Monte Vista is located close to Black Mountain’s shops, restaurants, galleries, and golf courses. The Monte Vista is 15 miles from Asheville, NC. Near the Blue Ridge Parkway and Biltmore Estate.
