 When
you're on a green, fix your ball mark and one other. Pat down spike marks.
Move around the edges, not the middle.
Spring
is the time to visit the Carolinas if you want to watch the world's best. In
addition to the Masters, held in April just across the border in Georgia in
April, the PGA Tour makes spring stops in Hilton Head and Greensboro.
To
speed up play, particularly when the course is busy, be generous with your
"gimme" putts. Players behind you will be irritated if you take
two minutes lining up a 3-footer.
Before
you visit a course, always call to make sure it's open and is not hosting a
big corporate outing or tournament.
Park
your cart or place your bag on the far side of the green so you can move
along quickly when finished. Make sure you don't leave any clubs behind at
the green.
