Tips
Half
your shots are played with your putter. Is half your practice time spent
with putter in hand?

If
you're a mid- or high handicapper, time spent practicing your short game
will help you avoid big blowups and big numbers. Once your short game has
improved, you can plan your approach shots to maximize the effectiveness of
your short game.
A
lesson from a PGA professional demonstrating the proper technique for
playing out of a sand trap is well worth the small investment. One lesson is
all it takes to get some valuable sand pointers, and you'll see instant
improvement in shots that most amateurs struggle with.
If
you've only got a few minutes before your round, spend them on the practice
green. Getting a feel for the speed of the putting surface will help you
save the most strokes once you begin play.
Afternoon
showers are fairly common in the Carolinas, especially in the summer. Keep
an umbrella and a light rainsuit in your bag so you'll be prepared when the
rains come.
